About
This site acts as a repository for documentation of the Truth & Beauty Lab projects used to command and control Second Life scripted agents (bots).
The Truth & Beauty Lab adheres to the principle that there is Truth in Beauty and Beauty in Truth. If something is true then it is also quite often elegant and beautiful. If something is elegant and beautiful then it is also quite often true. This principle is not absolute, there are ugly truths and there is false beauty. The principle of Truth & Beauty acts as a guide in our quest to understand and appreciate Nature.
“Ode on a Grecian Urn” is a poem written by the English Romantic poet John Keats in May 1819,
In five stanzas of ten lines each, the poet addresses an ancient Greek urn, describing and discoursing upon the images depicted on it. In particular he reflects upon two scenes, one in which a lover pursues his beloved, and another where villagers and a priest gather to perform a sacrifice. The poet concludes that the urn will say to future generations of mankind: “‘Beauty is Truth, Truth Beauty.’ – that is all / Ye know on earth, and all ye need to know”.
In Mathematics and Physics if a theory or proof is elegant and beautiful then it is most likely true and if a theory or proof is true then it is most likely beautiful and elegant. This principle holds true most of the time in most everything we know and do. Be beautiful and truthful!
